Rezervatia Naturala Cheile Sugaului – Munticelu a fost declarata in anul 1971 prin decizia Consiliului Popular Neamt), fundamentarea stiintifica apartinind prof.univ.dr. geolog Constantin Grasu, pe considerente geologice, paleontologice si geomorfologice. Studiile floristice si faunistice au evidentiat elemente de mare valoare sub aspectul biodiversitatii si al habitatelor. Toate acestea justifica atat statutul de arie protejata cit si interesul comunitar al sitului. |
